Pipe Tapping Contest - NC One Water

Pipe Tapping Competition

The Pipe Tapping Competition, typically held during the NC One Water Annual Conference, is a competition of skill in which teams compete for the best time in opening a cement-lined, ductile iron pipe and installing a tap. Pipe Tapping teams consist of a maximum of four persons including three workers and one coach. Winners from the NC One Water Pipe Tapping Contest will be eligible to compete in the National AWWA Contest at ACE.

Equipment donations are usually needed to make the annual competition possible. A list of needed equipment is typically available in the summer before the Annual Conference. Equipment donors are recognized as sponsors of the Pipe Tapping event .
