Charlotte GROW: Sugar Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Tour
5301 Closeburn Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210 Wednesday, October 22, 2025 | 3:00 P.M - 4:30 P.M.
Description: We will have a plant tour, and review/discussion with designers of the Nuvoda Mobile organic biofilm (MOB) process for charlotte water. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour Charlotte Water’s Sugar Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility which is currently piloting Nuvoda’s Mobile Organic Biofilm (MOB) Process. The MOB process uses small pieces of the kenaf plant to improve wastewater treatment by providing space for beneficial biofilms that consume waste and settle solids. The system aids in ammonia control in cold temperatures and manages higher water flows during storms through enhanced settling, potentially lowering costs and preparing for future city growth Event:
