Seminars & Workshops Committee

Purpose

Our committee is made up of members from all aspects of the water and wastewater profession including but not limited to engineers, operators, regulatory agencies, equipment and materials suppliers, and Association staff. Our members specialize in water treatment, wastewater treatment, collection and distribution, groundwater, emerging and current state and federal regulations, automation, and management (construction, risk, utility, project). Committee leadership includes the committee chair, vice-chair, and secretary who typically serve two-year terms.

The committee meets approximately 6 times per year in person and virtually. Seminars are planned and scheduled at the committee meetings with one or more coordinators volunteering to develop each seminar agenda and identify speakers. Members who serve as event registration coordinators attend for free and receive PDH/CEU credits. Association staff handles the logistics for each seminar including site logistics, meals, and registration. The committee also works with and provides support to other Association committees that organize specialty seminars. They also partner with other professional organizations to provide expanded training opportunities.
