Residuals & Reuse (Biosolids) Workgroup

Vision - Advancement of environmentally sound, cost effective, and publicly supported practices for residuals management and beneficial reuse of biosolids in North Carolina.

Mission - To provide information and establish a network for effective communication of topics regarding management options, regulatory compliance and trends, and current practices for residuals and biosolids to AWWA/WEA members, the public and policy makers in North Carolina.

Objectives 

• Identify residuals management issues that are important to North Carolina Members
• Develop technical sessions, seminars, and workshops on best practices, emerging technologies, residuals management, and beneficial reuse of biosolids targeted to North Carolina members
• Increase awareness among utilities, public, regulatory agencies of issues that have a potential to impact North Carolina members
• Promote committee’s resources to NC One Water members
• Coordinate with AWWA and WEF committees and regional biosolids associations that are in line with the mission statement
