Wastewater Board of Education & Examiners


 

Purpose

The Wastewater Board of Education and Examiners (WWBOEE) was created by NC One Water to assist/support/serve as a resource to the North Carolina Water Pollution Control System Operators Certification Commission (NCWPCSOCC) in its various tasks involving the various wastewater certifications.  Typical areas of involvement include certification course curricula; certification course content and references; development and maintenance of the Needs To Know Manuals; test question assistance; course instructor guidance; class audits; assisting with exam application processing; exam review and evaluation for training or curricula deficiencies; exam proctoring; certification course validation; appeals.

The WWBOEE is composed of 10 – 15 members appointed to three year terms by the NC One Water Chair.  At least two members each shall represent each of the following system sizes and types: (a) less than 10,000 population; (b) Physical/Chemical Grade II; (c) Biological Grade IV; and Collections Grade IV.

By virtue of their positions, the WWBOEE is formally supported/assisted by the following non-voting advisors: the NCWPCSOCC Chair, the NC AWWA-WEA Wastewater Treatment Operators School Committee Chair, and the NC One Water Collection/Distribution System Operators School Committee Chair.

The WWBOEE may be further informally supported/assisted by other non-voting advisors offering specific assistance and/or expertise as may be sought, identified, directed and/or assigned by the WWBOEE.
