2026 Statewide Poster Contest Guidelines

Theme & Divisions

  • Annual Theme: Guardians of The Drop

  • Grade Divisions:

    • K-2

    • 3-5

    • 6-8

Submission Details

  • Deadline: All entries are due by April 17th, 2026.

  • How to Submit: Please fill out all required information in the submission form.

  • Format: Scanned images or digitized versions are accepted for initial submission.

  • Original Artwork: Please retain your original artwork until after winners are announced. Winners will be required to submit their original artwork at a later date.

Poster Requirements

  • Materials: Posters must be created on paper or poster board. Recycled paper is encouraged.

  • Prohibited Materials: No cardboard, computer-generated graphics, photographs, collages, puff paint, or glitter.

  • Maximum Size: 22 x 28 inches.

  • Important Rule: Do not glue artwork or 3D objects to the poster. Posters with the participant's name on the front will be disqualified.

Judging & Awards

  • Judging Process: Posters will be categorized by division and by district. Entries will be judged by members of NC One Water.

  • Criteria:

    • Depiction of the theme

    • Originality of work

    • Creativity

    • Spelling, grammar, and mechanics

    • Aesthetics (overall presentation)

  • Prizes: Monetary awards and certificates will be granted to the first, second, and third place winners in each division.

Piedmont Regional Contest: Water Conservation Poster Contest

Focus Area: Students from the following Piedmont counties are eligible: Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin.

Theme: “Guardians of the Drop” Students in Grades K-8 are invited to express the importance of water conservation through art. Winners will receive special recognition and represent Greensboro in our statewide NC One Water contest!
