The next meeting of the Eastern Professional Wastewater Operators Committee will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018. This meeting will be hosted by Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District. Please share the agenda with others who may be interested.

Lunch at Ralph’s Barbeque will be family style buffet and will be $13.86 per person. The cost will include beverage and tax. Tip for wait staff is not included in the cost.
There will be a presentation on Wastewater Operations: Past, Present and Future; How to remain employed in 2030, by Dr. David Kinnear of Kinnear Process Services following lunch. Following the presentation, there will be a WWTP tour. The WWTP is approximately two miles from the restaurant.

The RRSD Plant is a conventional activated sludge plant that has a permitted flow of 8.34 MGD and an average flow of 3.5MGD. The plant utilizes several treatment processes such as primary clarifiers, trickling filters, anaerobic digesters, conventional activated sludge with coarse bubble aeration, rectangular secondary clarifiers with traveling siphon bridges, and WAS dewatering with lime stabilization.
DO NOT miss an opportunity to network, learn, and assist other operators. Operators who have certifications issued by the WPCSOCC will receive two (2) contact hours toward their continuing education requirement if they attend both the technical session and the plant tour.
