The next meeting of the Western Section of the Professional Wastewater Operators Committee will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 and will be hosted by Union County and Charlotte Water at the Twelve Mile Creek Water Reclamation Facility. This is an open meeting, and membership is not required to attend. Please share the agenda with others who may be interested.

Twelve Mile Creek WRF is an extended aeration facility utilizing biological nutrient removal and tertiary filtration.
The facility is permitted for 6.0 MGD and is currently under a $35 million upgrade to 7.5 MGD BNR plant, with permits in place to upgrade to 9 MGD and 12 MGD.
Treatment units consist of:
· Influent Mechanical Barscreens- Upgraded
· Diversion pump station to divert up to 3 MGD to Charlotte Water’s McAlpine WWTP
· Influent Pumping Station
· Vortex Grit Removal – Being Upgraded
· Mechanical and Diffused aeration (in process of converting from mechanical aeration to diffused aeration)
· Secondary Clarifiers
· Tertiary Filtration-Upgraded
· UV Disinfection-Being Upgraded
· Sludge Thickening-Being Upgraded
· Aerobic Digesters-Being Upgraded
All attendees should bring a hard hat, safety vest and close toe shoes. This is an active construction site.
The technical presentation is titled, “Newest Technologies in Pump, Telemetry and Sewage Treatment Equipment.” Garry Hager from Pete Duty and Associates will present.
