The High Point Westside Wastewater Treatment Plant is an advanced Class IV treatment facility owned and operated by the City of High Point, NC. The plant has recently undergone upgrades to the preliminary treatment facilities as well as the effluent filters, UV facilities, and solids handling facilities. Phase 3 included expanding existing facilities as well as the addition of new facilities to meet the new NPDES permit. Specifically, the expansion and improvements to the existing aeration tanks to provide for biological nutrient removal (BNR), a nitrified recycle (NRCY) pump station, new aeration blower facilities, upgrade of two existing primary clarifiers, upgrade of two existing secondary clarifiers, construction of an additional secondary clarifier, and chemical phosphorous removal storage and feed facilities.
