RCAP: Small Systems Workshop
Virtual
July 25-26, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Description:
Higher operating costs, regulatory compliance, infrastructure improvements. Managing small water systems is teemed with challenges in providing reliable, safe drinking water to their customers and often with limited resources. In partnership with USEPA and AWWA’s partner, the Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP), NC AWWA-WEA is excited to offer this educational opportunity to help those who manage small systems, learn ways to navigate industry challenges, achieve & maintain compliance to drinking water regulations and avoid costly violations.
Tentative Agenda:
Day 1 – Regulatory Overview, Emerging contaminants: PFAS and Cyanotoxins Day 2 – Lead & Copper, Disinfection/DBPs
Continuing Education (MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS TO RECEIVE CREDIT):
- Water Treatment Facility Operators, Distribution Operators, Cross Connection/Backflow Operators: This seminar is approved for 6 contact hours for continuing education by the NCWTFOCB. Must be present both days to receive credit. Course ID: 230112.
- Professional Engineers: This course is approved for 6 PDH’s.
- Maintenance Technologist: This course is approved for 6 contact hours.
