Western Section of Professional Wastewater Operators Committee Lunch, Presentation, and Plant Tour
We are very pleased to announce the next meeting of the Western Professional Wastewater Operators Committee will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023. This meeting will be hosted by the City of Hendersonville. It will begin with lunch provided by McKim & Creed followed by a tour of the WWTP. Lunch and Presentation Hendersonville Operations Center, 305 Williams St, Hendersonville, NC 28792 12-1:30 p.m. Lunch and presentation at Hendersonville Operations Center. McKim & Creed will be presenting on the implementation of new UV disinfection system and challenges associated with the proposed system.
Plant Tour Hendersonville WWTF, 99 Balfour Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28791 2-3 p.m. The
WWTF has a capacity of 4.8 MGD. The liquid stream treatment process includes influent
pumping, screening, grit removal, activated sludge system, secondary clarifiers, tertiary
filtration, and UV disinfection. Treated wastewater is discharged into Mud Creek.
Sludge produced by the treatment process is thickened, dewatered, and hauled offsite
for final disposal.
