Western Section of Professional Wastewater Operators Committee Lunch, Presentation, and Plant Tour
May 16, 10:00 a.m.-1 p.m. We are very pleased to announce the next meeting of the Western Professional Wastewater Operators Committee will be held on Tuesday May 16, 2023. This meeting will be hosted by the City of Charlotte. It will begin with a tour of various pilot-scale sludge processing equipment, that will be exhibited at the Irwin Plant as part of the WEF Residuals and Biosolids Conference, followed by a presentation and lunch provided by Black and Veatch. Further details are provided below:
Tour of Pilot-scale Dewatering Systems 10:00–11:30 a.m.
We will meet at the Environmental Services Facility (4222 Westmont Dr, Charlotte, NC 28217). The group will walk/be shuttled to the pilot site to tour a series of pilot-scale sludge processing equipment including sludge screen, centrifuge, belt press, screw press, rotary press, and thermal dryer. Presentation and Lunch 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Following the tour, the group will return to the Environmental Services Facility for a presentation and lunch provided by Black and Veatch.
