Western GROW: Resilient Streambank Stabilization for Infrastructure Protection

Course Description:

Dr. Jennings will describe various techniques for stabilizing streambanks in the vicinity of utilities and other infrastructure. Topics will include design approaches, permitting, construction, and vegetative stabilization using rock, wood, bioengineering, and soil stabilization for optimal stability and permit compliance. Case studies from throughout North Carolina will highlight various techniques and overcoming challenges in constrained environments. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions specific to their local needs.
