The next meeting of the Eastern Professional Wastewater Operators Committee will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015. This meeting will be hosted by the Town of Clarkton. It will begin with lunch at San Jose Mexican restaurant in Elizabethtown followed by a tour of the Clarkton Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Michael Wicker with Withers & Ravenel Engineering will be presenting. The Town of Clarkton WWTP was upgraded from a facultative lagoon during 2011/2013 to a 0.240 mgd tertiary extended aeration Mack Concrete package treatment plant with equalization, extended aeration, clarification, Pyra-deck filtration, EnAqua ultra-violet disinfection, aerated sludge holding and reclaim water irrigation facilities. Funding was provided by the Town, the State Revolving Fund, the Rural Economic Development Center, and the Clean Water Management Trust Fund. The old facultative lagoon was converted to a re-claim water storage pond.

Off Hwy 211 South (Green Street) turn right on Woods Street prior to leaving Town limits, Off Hwy 701 Business (College Street) turn left on Trico Street prior to leaving Town limits. WWTP is located at end of each street.
