 Your utility faces daily-to-day challenges providing reliable, safe drinking water for your customers while avoiding costly violations. NC AWWA-WEA is offering a FREE one-day workshop to help your utility learn about compliance with drinking water regulations and steps to avoid costly violations. Workshop modules will also cover how to prevent microbial contaminants, and how to maintain optimal water quality including ways to optimize your system and reduce DBP's. This workshop is made possible by funding through the USEPA and AWWA’s partner, the Rural Community Assistance Partnership.

Attend this workshop, and you will be able to:

· Achieve and maintain compliance with drinking water regulations and avoid costly violations;

· Apply a multiple barrier approach for prevention of microbial contamination of your water;

· Disinfect your water appropriately and inactivate microbial contaminants;

· Manage distribution system infrastructure and disinfectant residuals to prevent microbial contamination;

· Collect microbiological samples (and corresponding chlorine residual samples) without contaminating the samples;

· Optimize treatment plant and distribution system operations to minimize DBP formation;

· Evaluate the most appropriate in-plant or distribution system treatment alternative that helps minimize DBP formation; and

· Describe the importance of the distribution system in maintaining water quality.

Registration:

· Registration is limited to 30 participants.  In order to prioritize seating, only employees of Small Systems that received the initial invitation will be able to register until June 1.  After the June 1 deadline we will announce that the remaining seats are open for registration on a first–come first-serve basis.
