This meeting will be hosted by the Town of Kenly. It will begin with lunch at Lowell Mill Restaurant located at Big Boy’s Restaurant (595 Bagley Rd, Exit 105 I-95, Kenly, NC 27542) followed by a tour of the Kenly Wastewater Treatment Plant. ORC Ken Thompson.

11:30 –12:30 PM Lunch and presentation at Lowell Mill Restaurant. Mike McCallister with Municipal Engineering in Garner, NC will discuss 2012 upgrades to WWTP with a Kreuger Nutrient Removal System. Addition of an anoxic zone funded by the Town of Kenly and various grants.

12:30 PM –2:00 PM Plant tour at the Town of Kenly Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Town of Kenly operates a grade 4, 630 gallon activated sludge plant consisting of a Hycor Barscreen, 3 clarifiers and an Aqua Aerobics traveling bridge sand filter. Trojan UV system Ferric Chloride is used for phosphate removal. Sludge is removed by Granville Farms, Inc.

Operators who have certifications issued by the WPCSOCC will receive 2 contact hours toward their continuing education requirement if they attend both the technical session and the plant tour.
