This meeting will be hosted by Greenville Utilities. It will begin with lunch provided by Hazen & Sawyer at the Seahorse Restaurant (2301 Stantonsburg Rd, Greenville, NC 27834) followed by a tour of the WWTP led by Jason Manning, Superintendent; Chris Hill, WWTP Operations Coordinator; and staff.
11:30am – 12:30pm: Lunch and presentation at the Seahorse Restaurant
Alan Stone with Hazen & Sawyer, and Jason Manning, Superintendent will be presenting. The Greenville Utilities WWTP began operation in 1985 as a 10.5 MGD facility and was later expanded and upgraded to 17.5 MGD. The current plant includes screening, grit removal, hauled waste receiving, diffused air aeration, BNR and BPR, secondary clarification, tertiary filtration, and UV disinfection prior to discharge to the Tar River. Aerobic sludge is dewatered with belt filter presses and cake solids are sent to a private company for composting. Current projects include a new UV disinfection system, air piping replacement, and biosolids handling improvements.
12:30pm – 2:00pm: Tour of the Greenville Utilities WWTP
The Greenville Utilities WWTP is located at 240 Aqua Lane, Greenville, NC 27834. Some GPS devices have trouble finding Aqua Lane, but can find 4440 Old Pactolus Rd. which is just outside the main gate.
DON’T miss an opportunity to network, learn, and assist other operators. Operators who have certifications issued by the WPCSOCC will receive 2 contact hours toward their continuing education requirement if they attend both the technical session and the plant tour. There will be a drawing for a $25.00 Lowes Gift Card.
