The next meeting of the Eastern Professional Wastewater Operators Committee will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016.  This meeting will be hosted by The City of Rocky Mount. It will begin with lunch at the Hunter Hill Cafe' banquet room 501 Old Mill Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, followed by a tour of the Tar River Regional WWTP led by Darrell Highsmith , ORC, Tar River Regional WWTP.

11:30am – 12:30pm:  Lunch and presentation at the Hunter Hill Café.

• Cafeteria style lunch consisting of your choice of chicken, ribs, brisket, pork chops, and all the typical country sides.
• Presentation – Matt Mancuso of Clearwater will give a SCADA presentation, including updates and advances with the system.

12:30pm – 2:00pm:  Tour of the Rocky Mount WWTP

Rocky Mount WWTP is located at 3031 Treatment Plant Road, Hwy 97 West (Edgecombe County)

The Tar River Regional WWTP is a 21 MGD plant consisting of an influent pump station, (4) screw pumps, a mechanical bar screen, grit chambers, flow measurement device with Parshall flume, (4) pure oxygen A/O process aeration basins, (8) secondary clarifiers, (8) tertiary filters, (3) chlorination basins, (3) dechlorinating basins, (2) DAF thickeners, and (4) 1.5 MG aerobic sludge digesters.  Tar River WWTP also has a VPSA oxygen generation plant on-site.  The effluent from this site is discharged into the Tar-Pamlico River Basin.
