Purpose: Utility executives in all areas of their organization are facing significant challenges as their workforces’ age and draw nearer to retirement. To some extent, the great recession slowed the “brain drain” that was beginning to occur but the next decade will see significant segments of utility staff leave the workforce. How are utility organizations planning for succession? How are they capturing and retaining the systems and operational knowledge that these long-time employees hold? How are they successfully recruiting and retaining the next generation of utility staff?
Come and interact with some of the North Carolina’s prominent utility operations and human resource managers who are on the front lines of these issues, as they discuss the difficulties they are facing and the best practices they are employing to overcome them.
