The NC AWWA-WEA Annual Conference Program Committee is soliciting presenters for the 97th Annual Conference that will take place November 12-15, 2017 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, NC. Technical Sessions will cover water, wastewater, collection & distribution, policy & management, and other industry-related special topics.
There will be a Young Professional Track on Monday afternoon. This track is looking for presenters to provide students and young professionals an overview of a broad range of topics within the water and wastewater industry and to give students and young professionals the opportunity to present in a comfortable atmosphere. This track is looking for experienced professionals to provide a better understanding of how particular systems work, young professionals to provide examples of success early in their careers, students to present on their current research projects, and any professionals who would like to discuss other topics applicable to students and young professionals. Example topics would include: Pump Fundamentals, Fundamentals of Water/Wastewater Treatment, Fundamentals of Distribution and Collection Systems, Resume Workshop and Basic Networking, Communication and Presentation Skills, etc.
Abstract submissions will be accepted starting on March 9, 2017 and abstracts are due April 17, 2017. Abstracts can be submitted online at: https://precis2.preciscentral.com/Link.aspx?ID=9CE674F51FD9BAF1.
Selected presenters will receive further instructions on final presentation format at a later date. Full papers are no longer required for this conference. However, professional engineers who would like to claim credit for their paper being published on NC AWWA-WEA’s website will be required to submit a paper per direction of the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. A letter detailing this requirement can be found on our website.
Other selected presenters are also welcome to submit their papers to be published. Credit for publishing will be in accordance with the rules of their licensing board. At the conclusion of the Annual Conference all papers to be published will be posted on the Annual Conference page of this website.
Guidelines for Electronic Submissions: Abstracts should be 200-400 words and saved in the abstract management system.
