The Long Creek WWTP is a 16 MGD advanced BNR facility with an average flow of 6.1 MGD. Preliminary treatment consists of coarse mechanical barscreens and a grit chamber. Flow then enters the main lift station where five influent pumps lift the influent flow to three primary clarifiers. The primary clarifier effluent is combined with the RAS and the flow is then split into two biological treatment trains. The biological treatment trains consist of anaerobic, anoxic and oxic basins. Following the biological treatment trains, flow is combined and routed to a denitrification basin which consists of anoxic zones for further denitrification and oxic zones for reaeration. After the final clarifiers, flow is routed to gravity anthracite filters. After chlorination and dechlorination, flow is discharged to the South Fork Catawba River. Solids are anaerobically digested and land-applied as liquid Class B biosolids.
The technical presentation is titled, What to Measure? Where to Measure? How to Measure? Presenter Kelley Wilber of Heyward Inc. will explain how instrumentation can optimize your process from flush to finish and how to find the best measurement technique for your specific needs.
