Certificates of Attendance & Continuing Education Units (CEU’s)

NC AWWA-WEA uses an electronic card-scanning system to track attendance. Continuing education credits cannot be reported unless you give the appropriate license/certification numbers to NC AWWA-WEA. Please be sure to do BOTH of the following to insure the accurate reporting of your continuing education credits.

  1. Submit your license numbers during registration using the registration form or online registration system.
  2. Bring your certification card issued by the NCWTFOCB and/or the NCWPCSOCC to the event.

Certificates of Attendance for all events may be used to demonstrate CEU’s for Professional Growth Requirements for Certified Water Treatment Operators and Wastewater Operators, and PDHs for Professional Engineers. Each event will indicate the number of CEU’s available and for which licenses/certifications the event is approved.

Seminars: Participants who arrived on time and stay until the conclusion of a seminar will receive CEU’s and a Certificate of Attendance. Participants must pick up their own certificate at the conclusion of the seminar. No certificates will be given out early, to another individual, or mailed. No partial credit will be awarded to attendees. Registered speakers may receive partial credit equal to the amount of time that they participate in the seminar. Speakers should talk with the NC AWWA-WEA staff representative on-site at the seminar to receive their partial credit.

Schools: Participants who successfully complete a school will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the school. For a definition of “Successful Completion” refer to the brochure for the school and class you are attending. Each participant must pick up their own certificate at the conclusion of the event. No certificates will be given out early or given to another individual. Certificates will be mailed to persons who successfully complete the school, but are not present at the end to pick up their certificates.

Conferences: After the conference, staff will verify attendance and produce a CEU record for attendees.  These records will be sent to each attendee who has received CEU’s at the conference approximately 3 weeks after the conference.  Records will be emailed for attendees that provide an email address and mailed to attendees without an email address on file.
